Clint Eastwood: We Own This Country!
I was impressed by the words of Clint Eastwood on Thursday night during the Republican Convention. After a seven minute skit of an empty chair Obama, he turned to the audience and simply said, “We own this Country”. Do we really believe that?
His words remind us once again of the thing most Politicians and liberals want us to forget,”We the People” clause of the Constitution. Eastwood had it right when he said politicians work for us, they are our employees. Many times we act like it’s a privilege when a politician returns our call or answers our letter. We are the BOSS, they are the Employee. They are suppose to return our calls and answer our letters.
Eastwood was also spot on when he said, “When somebody doesn’t do the job, you gotta let `em go”. How appropriate! Whether Democrat or Republican, when politicians are not doing the job we sent them to do, it’s time for them to go. As a people I think we struggle with that. We want to keep giving them more chances. Did the person we elected last time fulfill there promise? And if the answer is no, then they must go!
Many have and will make fun of Eastwood’s convention speech. Most of the flack is coming from liberals and the liberal media, surprise! And while one can debate the delivery you cannot deny the message. FACT: “We The People” = We Own This Country! Never forget that. Do not be duped by the media read it for yourself here. They even put the first three words in big letters.
So for all those who seem to be in shock and awe over Eastwood’s speech I offer these words of encouragement. We Own This Country. Not Obama, Not Biden, Not the Democrats, Not the Independents, Not the Republicans Not Special Interest Groups and certainly Not the Media. We are not a Monarchy nor a Dictatorship, We are a Republic. We hire representatives (through elections) to represent us. Politicians work for us, and it’s ok to let `em go when they don’t do their job.
To a great American, Clint, you made my day!
